Set along a beautiful stretch of Mauritius’ east coast, Constance Belle Mare Plage has the kind of easy-going luxury that makes settling into island life almost effortless. Days can be spent swimming and snorkelling in the lagoon, playing a round on one of two championship golf courses, exploring the coast or simply moving between the beach, pools and spa. I’d choose Belle Mare Plage for someone who loves the idea of Mauritius but knows they’ll get bored just lying on a beach. There’s so much here: brilliant golf, diving, watersports, a huge choice of food and a gorgeous stretch of coastline. It’s bigger than many of the hotels in the Collection, but I think it earns its place because it does the full resort experience exceptionally well while still feeling connected to Mauritius.
