Orchid Classic sails through Lan Ha Bay, where towering limestone karsts rise from emerald water and life moves at a wonderfully slow pace. Days are spent kayaking into quieter corners of the bay, exploring caves and watching the landscape drift past from the deck. It's comfortable rather than ultra-glamorous, but that's not really the point. You're here for the scenery, the stillness and the experience of spending a night amongst the karsts.

I wouldn't come to Vietnam and miss spending a night on the water here. Orchid isn't about over-the-top luxury for me. It's about waking up amongst the karsts, kayaking through the bay and actually having time to take it all in. I'd choose it as a beautiful pause between the energy of Hanoi and the rest of Vietnam.

SUGGESTED ITINERARY
Hanoi → Lan Ha Bay → Central Vietnam Spend 2–3 nights in Hanoi, followed by 1–2 nights aboard Orchid Classic, before continuing south to Hoi An or elsewhere in Vietnam.
