THE EXPERIENCE
THE EXPERIENCE
Days are spent really exploring the Amazon with expert naturalist guides, heading out by skiff to search for monkeys, sloths, river dolphins and rich birdlife, walking in the rainforest and discovering flooded forests and hidden waterways. Then you’re back on board for beautiful food, a swim in the pool and a very comfortable bed. Wild outside, wonderfully civilised on board.

Hayley's Take
hAYLEY'S TAKE
This is how I’d want to experience the Amazon. I’d want to be off the boat twice a day, disappearing down little waterways and looking for wildlife, but I’d also quite like a pool, brilliant food and a gorgeous room to come back to. Aqua Nera gives you both without taking any of the adventure away.

SUGGESTED ITINERARY
Lima → Amazon → Sacred Valley → Machu Picchu I’d start with 2 nights in Lima, fly to Iquitos for 3–4 nights aboard Aqua Nera, then head south for the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu. It makes the Amazon part of a much bigger Peruvian adventure rather than a standalone cruise.
