THE EXPERIENCE
THE EXPERIENCE
Sonora is reached by helicopter or seaplane, which gives you an idea of just how remote it feels. Days are about getting out into the wilderness, searching for grizzlies, heading onto the water, fishing or hiking, before coming back to seriously comfortable surroundings, great food and a spa.

Hayley's Take
hAYLEY'S TAKE
I love hotels that make you feel completely cut off from everything, and Sonora does exactly that. Arriving by helicopter or seaplane, heading out looking for bears and then coming back to genuinely lovely food and a spa is my idea of wilderness luxury. I'd choose it for someone who wants Canada to feel like an adventure, not just a beautiful road trip.

SUGGESTED ITINERARY
Vancouver → Sonora Resort → Vancouver Island I'd start with 2–3 nights in Vancouver, then spend 3–4 nights at Sonora before continuing to Vancouver Island for more wildlife, coastline and a completely different side of British Columbia.
